Jakarta, January 23, 2026 — Hotel Borobudur Jakarta introduces a special program titled “Discover Timeless Harmony: Explore Singkawang”, held from January to March 2026 in celebration of Lunar New Year and Ramadan. The program highlights harmony and tolerance through cultural acculturation, particularly between the Lunar New Year and Ramadan traditions. This program is organized in collaboration with the Indonesian Chinese Association, the West Kalimantan Chinese Association of Indonesia, and the Singkawang City Government. It is also supported by The Voice of Istiqlal, Air China, and Wonderful Indonesia. Through a series of art, culture, culinary experiences, and cross-cultural dialogues, Hotel Borobudur Jakarta presents a festive and meaningful celebration.

The Discover Timeless Harmony series officially opened on January 23, 2026, with an opening ceremony led by Prof. Dr. KH. Nasaruddin Umar, M.A., Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, symbolizing a commitment to unity and diversity in society. The event featured Lion Dance performances, Tidayu Traditional Dance, Eight Deities Music, and a talk show session with Tjhai Chui Mie, Mayor of Singkawang, and Azmi Abubakar, Chairman of INTI Aceh and Founder of the Chinese Peranakan Heritage Museum, with the theme “Cultural Acculturation for Harmony and Tolerance.”

In addition, various activities are part of the program, including Lunar New Year celebrations, the Cap Go Meh Parade, and a UMKM Bazaar showcasing culinary products, handicrafts, and cultural items from West Kalimantan. A Chinese Art Exhibition will be held at the Flores Ballroom Foyer, presenting artworks that reflect Chinese cultural philosophy and aesthetics. Other programs include a book discussion session with Azmi Abubakar, a Chinese-Muslim seminar, and wellness activities such as Tai Chi, Yoga, and meditation.

During the program period, guests can also enjoy Discover Singkawang Culinary, a collaborative culinary program with the Singkawang City Government featuring authentic dishes from Singkawang at Bogor Cafe, starting from IDR 498,000 net per person. The culinary team of Hotel Borobudur Jakarta, together with a chef from Singkawang, Madam Song, will present traditional dishes such as Choipan, Bubur Gunting, Rujak Singkawang, and more.

The Lunar New Year celebration will be marked with special cultural performances across various areas of the hotel. On February 16 and 17, 2026, guests can enjoy the Eye-Dotting Ceremony with Lion Dance performances around the hotel, Chinese dance performances, Chinese Orchestra music in the main lobby, and Gu Zheng music performances at Teratai Chinese Restaurant.

The peak of the Cap Go Meh celebration will be highlighted by the Cap Go Meh Parade featuring Tatung attractions, Lion Dance, and Dragon Dance performances that represent the vibrant traditions and spiritual meaning of Singkawang and Chinese culture. As the grand finale, Hotel Borobudur Jakarta will present the Cap Go Meh Gala Dinner on March 3, 2026, at Flores Ballroom. The event will feature a special performance by Icha Yang along with cultural entertainment such as Lion Dance, Dragon Dance, Chinese dancers, Caishen, Fu Lu Shou, and Chinese musical performances, priced at IDR 1,388,000 net per person.
